I am completely obsessed with my air fryer. Since my husband decided during the early days of my pregnancy was a good time for him to go on a diet (I was not bitter at all 😒) and super oily food during pregnancy wasn’t sitting well with the baby, the air fryer has been one of our favorite kitchen gadgets.

Toasted Pita Nachos
It’s summer time, and quick, easy to throw together meals are the name of the game. Honestly, being a one-woman show means that most nights I just want to throw some popcorn on the stovetop and cozy up on the couch with a massive bowl of popped popcorn and an ice cold Diet Coke. I won’t tell you how many nights I’ve done that … there’s room for much judgment.
On the days when popcorn and Diet Coke just isn’t going to cut it, I crave easy-to-make snack-like dinners. I’m a snacker {could you tell when I mentioned popcorn for dinner?} I could live on Snack Boards. This is why I’m so in love with these toasted pita nachos. (more…)
Crockpot Beef Pho
‘Tis the season for short days, long nights, chilly weather, cozy layers… and lots of Pho!
Let me tell you about my very first Pho experience (it was awful, by the way). My friends had been raving on and on about Pho, which I quickly learned is pronounced, fah, and decided they wanted to plan a Pho night. It was Ramadan, and I was starving to begin with. The place was nothing to write home about. It included lots of basic chairs and tables, some Vietnamese décor, and of course only accepted cash. (more…)
Crockpot BBQ Beef
I’ve wanted to make BBQ something for a while now. At first, I thought I’d take a stab at BBQ Beef Ribs and invite the girls over. That didn’t happen – mostly because weekday work schedules are largely unpredictable and when the weekend rolls around, I’d much rather have someone else prepare food for me (RE: eat out).
A friend graciously invited our friend group over for a Super Bowl party, giving me the perfect excuse to try out BBQ Beef in the crockpot. I mean, sure, it’s the middle of winter, but BBQ and Super Bowl pretty much go hand-in-hand, kind of like Super Bowl and wings. I will admit, I’m not a huge sports fan. However, any excuse for a social gathering that involves food and shisha, you can count me in. (more…)
Arayes
We all know there are smells and sounds that take us back to a certain place or time. The minute a particular song makes it through your shuffle lineup, you’re transported back to a place, a person, an event. It’s either a good memory, or one you want to pretend never happened [in which case you next that song like it’s nobody’s business]. Or you’re walking through the mall, or outside and all of a sudden you catch the scent of perfume, or cigarette smoke, or even home cooking and someone, something, some place pops right into your mind. Ground Beef Skillet Hash
I’ve been on a short hiatus from blogging. Not intentionally. Every once in a while I get caught up with other things in my life—namely, my day job, and other life events.
For those who follow me on Instagram and Snapchat, you know I’ve been busy on travel to Turkey and counting down to my birthday! Another year older and hopefully a little bit wiser. (more…)
