I’ve been so out of the cooking loop that last weekend I went on a baking spree. Yes, Baking spree. I spent my Sunday making goodies. Honestly, I’m not even sure who’d eat them since I’m doing my best to avoid sweets. A friend of mine gave me a basic cake recipe and I decided to do a little experimenting by adding in a different flavor. Let’s just say, they were requested as an after dinner dessert. Win.
Orange Cream Cakes
Ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 ¼ cups Sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup oil
- 1 ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking Soda
- 1 cup Organic 1% Milk
- ¾ cup oranges
- 2 tablespoons whipping cream
- ¼ cup Powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons Heavy whipping cream
- Orange zest
For the Cake

Instructions
- Mix together oil, eggs, milk.
- Add baking powder, baking soda, flour, sugar.
- Then add oranges and whipping cream.
- Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
- Mix together powdered sugar and whipping cream. Add orange zest. Mix until thickened. If needed, add more sugar or whipping cream.
