I found a recipe for a really good cilantro salad dressing and I couldn’t wait to use it. But it needed a simple salad. I went with mixed greens and crispy chickpeas.
Crispy chickpeas are really good on salads, alone as a snack or even as a crunchy topping on soup.
Im so into stews. All winter long I used my instant pot to make veggie and meat stews like crazy. They’re just so dang cozy. So many stews remind me so much of my Tayta. She used to make stews all winter long too.
Of course the best part, is that I get to use my favorite kitchen appliance — the Instant Pot.
I love myself some mac & cheese. Seriously. It’s like the best pasta ever invented. It has all good things– tons of cheese, and carbs. What better combo?!
Some foods bring back such vivid memories. When I think about Moghrabiyeh, I’m transported to my Tayta’s dining room, with cousins aunts and uncles all sitting around massive bowls of Moghrabiyeh.
We’re on a roll here with foods. Baby M is getting with the groove. We now have a “time to eat song” —Oh yes, I’m at that stage in Motherhood— and I strictly use her high chair for mealtimes. I’ve read so many places that to keep babies excited about eating, don’t put them in the high chair while prepping the food. Only when you’re ready to start eating. So, we’re giving it a try. Even tho my husband is convinced that she likes her high chair and we should use it more often for non-mealtime activities. We’re still compromising on this.
We’re on food # 2 for Baby M, Pears. We’re alternating between fruits and veggies. And yes, we did not start with fruit. Research suggests that it doesn’t actually matter whether you start with fruits or veggies. We started with Avocado. Pears need more than just mashing to be ready for Baby to eat. They need to be cooked, even when serving in large pieces to avoid choking. I knew my Instant Pot would come in clutch one day for baby food.
